Definitions Used in the Privacy Terms
- Website — an online resource consisting of (a) computer programs and (b) information (Content) published by the Administration and/or Users.
- Doctor — a verified or unverified user registered on the Website with the status of a doctor of one of the medical specialties.
- User — any person using the Website.
- Website Administration — authorized representatives of Globalmed.LLC.
- Country of Residence — the country where the user resides.
- Country of Registration — the country where the user is registered.
- Privacy Terms — rules for using the Website aimed at protecting copyright, intellectual property, and users’ personal information, as well as preventing its distribution and use for other purposes.
- Civil Code — a legislative act containing civil law norms.
- Criminal Code — a legislative act establishing crimes and penalties within the territory of the country.
General Privacy Terms
Doctors using the Website are responsible for their actions when creating and publishing information on personal pages. Breaches of the Privacy Terms entail civil, administrative, and criminal liability under the laws of the Swiss Confederation.
The Website Administration provides the technical capability for using the resource, does not participate in shaping the content of personal pages, and is not responsible for the actions or omissions of any persons when using the Website.
The Website’s information system and software do not contain technical solutions for automated censorship or monitoring of Users’ actions.
The Website Administration has the right, at its discretion and upon receiving information about violations, to delete a User’s page and/or any information published by them, restrict or terminate the User’s access to sections or functionality of the Website without explanation.
Disclaimer: under no circumstances shall the Website Administration or its representatives be liable to the User or third parties for any indirect, incidental, or unintentional damages (including lost profits, loss of data, damage to honor, dignity, or business reputation) arising in connection with the use of the Website, its content, or other materials obtained through the Website, even if the Administration had warned of the possibility of such damages.
Doctor’s Privacy Responsibilities
- Using the Website means the doctor is informed of and agrees to these Privacy Terms.
- The doctor is fully responsible for the confidentiality and security of information entered/saved on the Website and received from the Website.
- Data exchange between users is carried out via a secure connection.
- Data in the doctor’s profile is public; the Administration is not responsible for consequences of open access to such data (workplace, reception hours, phone number, email, etc.).
- Information sent through "Private Consultation" becomes available to the user who contacted the doctor; further use/distribution of this information by the User is beyond the Administration’s responsibility.
- Data submitted through the "Appointments" section constitutes "medical secrecy", must remain confidential, and may not be transferred to third parties or published. Responsibility for violations lies with the doctor in accordance with the law on "Medical Secrecy" of the country of residence.
- Information about confirming or declining an appointment request becomes available to the requesting user; the Administration does not control further use of this information.
- Materials posted by the doctor in the "Journal" section are automatically added to the "Medical Journal" of the corresponding language section and become public; the most read ones appear on the homepage.
- For copyright violations (including publication of protected materials), the doctor bears liability under civil and criminal law of the country of residence. Upon complaints, the doctor’s content and page are removed, and access to the Website is permanently blocked.
- Information added by the doctor in the "Online Consultation" section is public and not subject to confidentiality.
- Users may leave reviews in the "Comments" section on the doctor’s page; they are public. The doctor undertakes to periodically moderate this section; the Administration is not responsible for the content of user comments.
Other Users’ Privacy Responsibilities
- Using the Website means the User is informed of and agrees to these Privacy Terms.
- The User is fully responsible for the confidentiality and security of information entered/saved on the Website and received from the Website.
- Information in doctors’ profiles is intended solely for finding a specialist, private consultation, and booking an appointment. Use for other purposes is prohibited under civil and criminal law of the doctor’s country of residence.
- Data sent through "Private Consultation" is protected as "medical secrecy"* and is intended for preliminary online consultation; it does not replace an in-person visit. The User is responsible for the consequences of following recommendations.
- Commercial or advertising use of "Private Consultation" is prohibited; for violations the User bears responsibility under these Terms and the laws of their country of residence.
- Data sent through "Book an Appointment" is protected as "medical secrecy"* and is intended solely for booking.
- Materials in the "Journal" and "Medical Journal" sections are protected by copyright; Users are responsible for any distribution/publication elsewhere.
- "Comments" under the doctor’s profile serve to form an impression of the specialist; reuse, distribution, or publication elsewhere is prohibited.
- The "Online Consultation" section is intended only for preliminary medical consultations; commercial/advertising use is prohibited.
- All information added by the User in "Online Consultation" becomes public; its further distribution elsewhere is prohibited by these Terms.
- To protect personal data, the Administration recommends contacting verified doctors and using modified names in "Online Consultation" and "Private Consultation".
* Provisions on "medical secrecy" apply only to verified profiles marked with the appropriate verification badge before the doctor’s name.
